2010 - News about Austrian brands |
September 2010 - There is a brand-new Special Edition from Memphis Red/White called "Enjoy Austria". There are 6 packs with different letters and there is a competition to build with those letters the word "MEMPHIS".
Smart has released two brand-new packs - Smart Superslims (in pink) with 5 mg tar and 0,5 mg nicotine (bar-code 5903191 021029) and Smart Superslims (in blue) with 3 mg tar and 0,3 mg nicotine (bar-code is 5903191 021050). Although Smart is a very old brand, it seems that those two packs are not made in Austria.
 
Lucky Strike changed design of Original Red and also changed the name from Lucky Strike Original Silver to Lucky Strike Blue.

2009 - News about Austrian brands |
December 2009 - Davidoff has released two new packs: Davidoff Superslims Gold with 6 mg tar and 0,6 mg nicotine (bar-code 4030600 027820) and Davidoff Superslims Silver with 3 mg tar and 0,3 mg nicotine (bar-code 4030600 027851).
November 2009 - A new importer (DanCzek AT GmbH) offers a German brand in Austria - Egalite Selected Slim with bar-code 4260115 861507 (6 mg tar, 0,5 mg nicotine) and Egalite Fine Slim with bar-code 4260115 861477 (1 mg tar and 0,1 mg nicotine).
Lucky Strike has released a Special-Edition - called "Icon" - there exists 3 packs in Red and 3 packs in Blue.
Camel Filters and Camel Blue are also out as Limited Edition - called "Disco Ball".
Pall Mall has released three new packs - Pall Mall Superslims Amber with bar-code 5903 6890 (4 mg tar and 0,4 mg nicotine), Pall Mall Superslims Blue with bar-code 5903 6883 (7 mg tar and 0,7 mg nicotine) and Pall Mall Superslims Menthol with bar-code 5903 7309 (7 mg tar and 0,6 mg nicotine).
Chesterfield has released their brands with 100's length - Chesterfield Classic Red Long Size with bar-code 4205 0025 (10 mg tar and 0,8 mg nicotine) and Chesterfield Classic Blue Long Size with bar-code4205 0001 (6 mg tar and 0,5 mg nicotine).
M Tabak imports as a new pack O'Nyle Blue-4 100 with bar-code 5450 6749, the brand has 4 mg tar and 0,4 mg nicotine.
There exists another special pack from the B&H Black and B&H Silver - it's a competition to win a BMW-car (from October - December 2009).

2008 - News about Austrian brands |
October 2008 - Camel also has changed the design of their packs. The pack Camel Blue is not named "Subtle Flavour" anymore - it is named Blue again.
The brand Pink Elephant has a complete new design. This brand, which is imported by Import Moosmayr has bar-code 8710151 545535, tar is 10 mg and nicotine is 0,8 mg.
The packs of the brand Matrix are now available in round style.
The brand Marlboro Gold ist replaced by Marlboro Gold Original with absolutly new design. The brand has 7 mg tar and 0,6 mg nicotine, the bar-code is 7616 4736.
There is a little change on design at brand Batton. And there is out a new kind of Batton - called Batton Extra with 3 mg tar and 0,3 mg nicotine. The bar-code is 4006396 090652.

Austria Tabak closes factory |
|
October 2007:
In 2001 Austria Tabak was sold to the British company Gallaher which was sold later to Japan Tobacco. In 2005 Austria Tabak had to close the factory for cigarettes in Schwaz and the factory for cigars in Fürstenfeld. Now it's official that until 2009 the factory in Linz and place in Vienna will be closed. Only the factory in Hainburg will exist then ....

December 6, 2007 - The company Moosmayr is selling two brandnew brands in Austria. It is Tradition Gold from the company Von Eicken with 10 mg tar and 0,8 mg nicotine, the bar-code is 4006396 031501 and Tradition Silver with 6 mg tar and 0,6 mg nicotine - the bar-code is 4006396 031525.
